Database Clinic: SQLite Watch preview
  • Course details

SQLite is a powerful embedded database engine that's a core storage technology in Android and iOS applications. In this installment of the Database Clinic series—in which experts and their databases of choice are pitted against a series of the same challenges— Mark Niemann-Ross demonstrates how to leverage SQLite to solve common database problems. After providing a brief overview of the strengths and weaknesses of SQLite, Mark explains how to create a database and populate it using a public dataset. He also shows how to use a SQLite database with programming languages such as Python and R, handle subqueries and queries in SQLite, and more.

  • Welcome

    - [Mark] SQLite is a part of almost every android and iPhone application. It's lightweight, easy to program, and public domain. Hi, I'm Mark Niemann-Ross, and in this course, I'll provide you with a look at common database problems and how to solve them with SQLite. We start with the simplest of operations, then move to more advanced SQLite use, such as extensions and subqueries. I'll show how to use an SQLite database with a database browser and a command line interface. I'll also show how to use SQLite with programming languages, such as Python or R. This course is part of the database clinic series. Database clinic is a collection of courses each focused on a different database, each solving the same problem. You can choose to polish your skills with one database or use the collection of courses to compare how different databases provide solutions to data needs. I've enjoyed tackling these problems and look forward to sharing my solutions. So let's get started with database clinic…
